Chicago in the Winter Bucket List

Embrace the tundra!

Even though Texas is now home, Illinois will always have a piece of my heart.

And while summertime in Chicago gets all the hype, once you get past the blistering cold, it’s pretty amazing in the winter too!

If you’re planning a visit or even thinking about a trip to the Windy City when there’s snow on the ground, here are a few winter musts!

Ice Skating at Millennium Park

Want to see the infamous Bean? Grab some skates and take to the ice while you’re there! The ice rink at Millennium Park is open until the beginning of March, so take advantage of a warmer Chicago winter day!

Rooftop Adventures

Nothing compares to a Chicago rooftop overlooking the city. So why waste those views in the winter? Hotspots like The Gwen Hotel and The Godfrey offer unique experiences like curling & cocktails, personal igloos and even bocce courts. Stay warm under the heaters while sipping on your favorite drink!

Explore the Museums

I may be biased, but Chicago has some of THE BEST museums. My personal favorites are The Museum of Science & Industry, the Art Institute of Chicago and The Shedd Aquarium (I know, not a museum but it's amazing). These are great spots to hit when you want to stay warm indoors - be sure to block out a good chunk of time too!

Second City

SNL fan? This will be your favorite thing! Chicago's very own comedy troop has a ton of different shows, sketches and live entertainment. They might even pull you on stage for the fun!

Always,

Alina Ann
