Must Visit Spots in the DFW Suburbs

A big city getaway!

The suburbs of Dallas are something else. Really, they’re not suburbs, they’re more like not-so-mini metroplexes!

If you want to head out of the 'big city' for a day or night, here are a few of my favorite spots!

Rockwall/Heath

If you like HG Supply & Co and HERO by HG, you’ll LOVE their sister restaurant, Standard Service! Although there is a location in Dallas proper, the Heath spot is a totally different experience.

It’s the perfect outdoor spot for families, friends and large parties! Complete with ping pong tables, pickle ball, corn hole (or as I like to call it as a Midwesterner, bags) and live music on the weekends! It’s truly the best spot to watch the sporting event of the day.

The Colony

If shopping and eating is your idea of a good time (like it is mine), this is the place for you! My favorite spots here are The Puttery, an upscale putt putt place for those 21 and over, and the Andretti, a classic arcade/go kart place perfect for date night or kids. It's so big, there's even a full sized ferris wheel right in the middle! You can definitely spend the entire day here without running out of things to do.

Allen

I’m impartial to shopping malls, I know. I love this spot for all of the fun shops, restaurants and events they host! Summer concerts, food & wine walks and more. It’s a little community within a community! My favorite spot in the area.

Always,

Alina Ann
